Gale Loker – Keenes

Gale  Loker, 86, of Keenes, IL passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at his home.

Gale was born in Hickory Hill Township in Wayne County, IL the son of George Loker and Joy (Fleming) Loker.  On June 16, 1956 he married Deloris (Edmison) Loker, who preceded him in death on February 18, 2009.

Gale worked as a rural mail carrier for many years and was also a farmer.  He loved the outdoors, riding ATVs, and tinkering with his old tractors.  Gale had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.  He loved spending time with his family around campfires in the fall, and by his fireplace during cooler months.  He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He was of the Christian faith.

Gale is survived by 3 sons: Kim (Kim) Loker of Mt. Vernon, IL; Kendal (Denise) Loker of Mountain Home, AR and Karlyn (Justine) Loker of Keenes; a daughter Kristi (Don) Bailey of Newburgh, IN; 10 grandchildren: Joshua (Nichole) Loker, Brandon Loker, Karlisa (Byron) Moreland, Kyle (Kaitlin) Loker, Kayla (Evan Reynolds) Loker, Kris (Deanna) Loker, T.J. (Ashley) Loker, Amanda (Canyon) Clark, Alyssa Bailey, and Lexi Bailey; 13 great grandchildren: Emilee Loker, Caleb Loker, Cayden Loker, Levi Bodendieck, Paityn Bodendieck, Ryker Moreland, Eghan Moreland, Graceland Loker, Javen Loker, Kinley Loker, Kaelynn Loker, Kylar Loker, and Raegan Clark; 2 brothers: Jerry (Margie) Loker and Kent (Patty) Loker, 2 sisters: Betty (Leroy) Shelton and June (Terry) Bashore, a sister-in-law Nola Loker and a brother-in-law Dale McCormick.

He was preceded in death by his father George Loker and his mother Joy (Fleming) Loker, his wife Deloris Loker, a brother Dale Loker, and a sister Kay McCormick.

A private family service will be held for Gale Loker at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL.  Interment will follow the service in Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.  Memorials in Gale’s memory may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home And Family Services in Carmi, IL and will be accepted at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City.
