Ruby Ellen (Carter) Knight, 96, of Carmi, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi. She was born on April 17, 1926, the daughter of Samuel Coleman and Lura Agnes (Jarrett) Carter. She married George Harrison Knight on January 11, 1946, and he survives. Ruby worked as an aide at the Carmi Hospital for 23 years. She attended and was very active at the Carmi New Beginning Church of God in Carmi. In addition to her husband, George Knight of Carmi, IL, Ruby is survived by her children, Roger (Linda) Knight of Carmi, IL, Larry (Loretta) Knight of Carmi, IL, Tim (Amanda) Knight of Carmi, IL, Dennis (Kathy) Knight of Cumberland, VA, Janet (Mike) Boren of Carmi, IL, and Vickie (Gary) Anderson of Norris City, IL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Knight, a grandson, Cristan Michael Knight; and siblings, Donald Eugene, Laverne, and Charles Knight and Evelyn McBride. Funeral Services for Ruby Knight, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at New Beginning Church of God in Carmi, Illinois with burial at North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Family and friends may visit from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at New Beginning Church of God. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to New Beginning Church of God and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
