Carolyn Sue (Sanders) Pattillo – Emma

Carolyn Sue (Sanders) Pattillo, age 82 of Emma (Concord), Illinois, passed away at Wabash Christian Village on Sunday, June 26, 2022. She was born on September 4, 1939 the daughter of Thomas L. Sanders and Carrie Etta (Frymire) Sanders. She was married to Charles David Pattillo, and he survives.

Sue worked as a healthcare provider and enjoyed visiting and reminiscing with family and friends. She wrote and sent letters to her family keeping them up to date on the happenings around Emma and treasured getting letters in return. Among her favorite pastimes were playing and listening to music, playing card games of all sorts, and each year looking forward to the White County Fair.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Charles David Pattillo of Emma (Concord), Illinois; three children, William Joseph Turner of Alpena, Michigan; Larry (Julie) Turner of Lake Isabella, Michigan; Cynthia Smith of Princeton, Indiana; grandchildren, Adam Turner, Melinda Dotson, Kristy (Neil) Gray, Michelle (Jesse Frein) Turner, Beth (Christopher Zamplas) Turner, Amber (David) Thomas, Isabelle Smith and Noah Smith; her sister Glenda Maynard of Odin, Illinois; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Geneva Sanders and Carrie (Frymire) and Wayne Bryant; brothers Gary Sanders and Larry Sanders; sisters Phyllis Stockton and Karen Young; granddaughter Carissa Richardson; and Sue’s first husband James Edward Turner.

Visitation and funeral service for Sue will be Friday, July 1, 2022, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi, Illinois. Visitation is at 10am and funeral is at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in Emma.
