Helen B. Talbert, 87, of Fairfield, died at 1:05pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Cisne Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Cisne, IL. She had been a homemaker.
Helen was born on February 5, 1935, in Fairfield, IL, to Loren and Nettie (Morlan) Thomason. On April 26, 1954, she married the love of her life, Charles Talbert, who preceded her in death in December, 2021.
Survivors include a son Steve (Gwen) Talbert of Centrailia, IL, a daughter LaDonna (Jessie) Isle of Fairfield, seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, two brothers Roy “Sonny” Thomason and James “Jimmy” (Sharon) Thomason both of Fairfield, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Charles Talbert, her parents, a sister Dorothy Keen, a brother Herschel Morlan, a son Larry Talbert Sr, two step-daughters Thelma Talbert and Velma Talbert, and one great grandson Charlie Lowe.
Funeral services for Helen Talbert will be at 1pm on Thursday, September 22nd, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, which is in charge of the arrangements.
