Branda Renez Burke-Ramirez – Grayville

Lifetime Grayville, Illinois, resident, Branda Renez Burke-Ramirez, 49, died Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family and friends.  She was born November 11, 1972, in Fairfield, Illinois, the daughter of David Allen Burke and Karen Jean (Riley) Burke.

Branda was an active, community-minded resident who loved her hometown.  She was valedictorian of her class in Grayville and continued her education at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.  She was proprietor of A-Z/Calle Rosa Boutique, and also work at Whyte House of Flowers.  She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, member of “FOG” – Friends of Grayville, member of the Grayville Days Planning Committee, and an active participant in the Grayville Arts Camp.  She was an animal lover.

Survivors include her father, David Allen Burke of Bedford, Indiana; mother Karen Riley; sons Alessandro Burke, Emilio Ramirez, Santiago Ramirez, all of Grayville; brothers Bradley A. Burke of Grayville, Travis Smallwood (Alicia Transue) of Arizona; sisters Bonnie (Dale) Carrell of Grayville, Jennifer Burke (Brian Evans), Amber (Michael) Bolding, all of Arizona;

Nieces and nephews Carly Burke, Drennan Burke, Cooper Carrell, Gabe Transue, Russell Transue, Abigail Evans, Emily Evans, Everett Bolding, Ellie Bolding; numerous “honorary” nieces and nephews; and her dear friends T.J. Mayberry, Stephanie Keneipp, Jennifer Rodriguez-Martinez, and Kris Naney.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Chloe Walker; step-mother Loretta Smallwood Burke; grandparents John Riley and Mary Riley and Alvin Lewis Burke and Martha Jane Burke.

In keeping with Branda’s wishes, her remains were cremated and a celebration of her life will be at a later date.
