Joseph C. Stoll – formerly of Olney

Joseph C. Stoll, 89, of Newburgh, formerly of Olney, died on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Woodlands Living Center, Newburgh, IN.

Joseph was born on August 14, 1933 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Edwin Joseph and Margaret (Williams) Stoll. He was preceded in death by his sisters Joanne Joiner, Jeanine Stage and brother Edwin Sonny Stoll.

Joe attended Olney High School and graduated from Kemper Military Academy in Boonville, MO. He enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean Conflict from1954-1956.

He was the owner and publisher of the West Salem Advocate from 1959 until 1984. He subsequently moved to Newburgh, IN and became the manager of the Newburgh Register until his retirement.

In 2003 he moved to Bonita Springs, FL with his second wife Charlene Scott Stoll. An avid golfer, he enjoyed many years at at Palmira Golf and Country Club

Joseph is survived by his sons…Joe (Teresa) and their children Carolina, Michelle and Joey. Jeff (Erin) and his children Taylor and Tanner, Jay and his children Memr’y (Cody) Davis and Mason (Madison). He is survived by great-grandchildren Mai and Leo Davis, and Harleigh, Jaxon, Bailee and Parker Stoll

A visitation will be held for friends and family from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a private family graveside service afterward.

Interment will be at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney, and Full Military Rites will be performed at the cemetery.

The family requests no flowers be sent.
