The FCHS Board met Thursday evening for their regular monthly meeting.
The meeting began with a short presentation by the cast and crew from the FCHS Production of The Little Mermaid. The presentation is set for March 31 and April 1 at 7pm and Sunday April 2 at 2pm.
In the Superintendents Report, Supt. Jill Fulkerson stated that she had attended a Legislative Meeting and voiced concern over some proposed legislation concerning school finances and a possible mandate that school buses be electric by 2028. She also updated the board on the large amount of students involved in extra curricular activities this Spring. The gym lobby remodel project is being reconsidered after the bid came in at $1.62 million. She said that some work will still be completed on the project.
Assistant Principal Robert Wells updated the board on Summer School for FCHS students. He said that at this time 47 students are eligible for Summer School and several teachers had expressed interest in leading the classes.
In routine business, the board:
Voted to reject the fuel bids for the 2023-2024 school year. It will be rebid at a later date.
Voted to seek bids for a new minivan for Drivers Education
Approved membership renewal in the IHSA
Voted to approve investing in a 30 day CD for 1 million dollars and a 90 day CD for 1 million dollars at FNB. Board member Matt Rush abstained
