Illinois State Police say that a West Liberty Woman is dead following a traffic accident at 3 PM Tuesday on Illinois Route 130. The accident happened near County Road 1400 North in Richland County. 55-year-old Timothy Johnson of Dundas was driving northbound on 130 when 55-year-old Melody Blumberg of West Liberty was driving southbound. For unknown reasons, Johnson crossed the center line on the road cand struck Blumberg. Johnson was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries while Blumberg was pronounced dead on the scene by the Richland County Coroner. Illinois 130 was closed for about 5 hours to investigate and clean up the crash.
