Donald Buren Cullison, 93, of Albion

Donald Buren Cullison, 93, of Albion, Illinois passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

Donald “Donny” was born on August 6, 1932 in Albion, Illinois to Edward and Mary (Smith) Cullison. He was a member of the United States Army. He married Phyllis J. (Taylor) Cullison and they enjoyed many years together until her passing in 2014. Together they raised exotic animals and trained dogs at their home in rural Albion. Donny was a member of Samaria Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Tri County Coon Club, Quail Unlimited and the local Laborer’s Union. He had a forty plus year career, working as a construction superintendent overseeing many road construction projects. He had a happy demeanor and was nicknamed “Donny B, Honest Cullison the First” by those who knew him. He enjoyed being outdoors, training dogs, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family,

Surviving is his son, Phillip (Colleen) Cullison; grand daughter Jacqueline Cullison; a brother, Ron (Sue) Cullison; and a sister, Donna Dalton; several nieces, nephews and their families; and numerous friends. Donny B will be remembered as a good man.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and son Gary Cullison in 2016.

Graveside Services for Donald B. Cullison will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Ebenezer Cemetery in Samsville, Illinois.
