By Tony Collins Jul 11, 2023 | 6:08 AM

USDA Secretary Vilsack is issuing four separate disaster declarations for the state of Illinois due to tornadoes and drought that took place during the 2023 Illinois growing season. A number of counties received USDA Disaster Designations for tornadoes, including Henry, Rock Island, Whiteside, and Sangamon. Randolph, Jackson, Monroe, Perry, St. Clair and Washington counties receive disaster designations due to drought. A disaster designation allows the USDA Farm Service Agency to provide emergency loans to producers recovering from natural disasters.
