It’s a busy night in Hamilton County on the meeting front.
The city of Mcleansboro is set to meet this evening at 5 30 at City Hall. Nathan Sanders and Dustin Larkin from A to B productions are scheduled for public comment following the consent agenda.
They will be looking at the discussion or the action on accepting the resignation of Walter Rexing as the assistant fire chief. They’ll be discussing or taking action on the following including the purchase of a police vehicle regarding upcoming tournaments and activities at Fox Prairie Disc Golf Course. They will be looking at granting permission to a resident to live in a camper at 1104 West Wilson currently zoned MR=1 while he is building a home, they’re going to take, take a look at granting permission for residents to build a container home at 1104 West Wilson as well. There will be discussion or action regarding the closing of an alley adjacent to 1104 West Wilson discussion and or action regarding accepting a proposal to remove a trailer located at 103 East Powell.
They’ll take action for allowing A to B productions to use property at Mcleansboro Airport for filming. They’ll discuss the items regarding 2023 income and expenses at the city pool. They’ll take first reading on an ordinance regarding two hour parking on the outside of the Mcleansboro Square. They’ll look into pursuing an OSLAD grant for Fox Prairie Disc Golf Course. They’ll look at approving a tif reimbursement for $5511.57 for MC Sales LLC as well as a Tif reimbursement and the amount of $4841.23 for Wuebbel’s Repair LLC, as well as a tif reimbursement and the amount of $1263.54 for Jerrod and Lois Vaupel. There will be discussion and or action to convene in your executive session and then during that executive session, they’re going to work on some collective bargaining items.
Mcleansboro City Council meets at 5 30 at mcleansboro City Hall.
The Hamilton County Board will be at six this evening at the Hamilton County courthouse.
They’ll have their department reports and consent agenda. Under new business, there will be a discussion of possible approval pertaining to the Hamilton County highway budget amendment. There will also be a discussion of possible approval of a resolution allowing a portion of the 1% public safety tax to reimburse the county for 911 dispatch. They will look at the fiscal year 2022 audit report presented by Dale Holman with Scheffel Boyle. They will look at discussing and possibly approving the final payment of $10,000 to Window World of Paducah for final completion of blinds and finally under new business, they will look at discuss and possibly approve the claims list, late claims and highway claims with signatures approval
Under highway recommendations. They will look at advertising for the purchase of a new or used tractor to replace the highway department’s secondary tractor and look at the discussion of possible approval to advertise for bids for the sale of county property located in the southwest quadrant of 1800 North and 600 East.

The Hamilton County School Board set to me at 7 this evening at the administration center on Golf Course Road in Mcleansboro. Following the consent agenda, correspondence, recognition of visitors and public comments and superintendents report. They will look at all business to set a public budget hearing date and time under new business. Several items on the agenda including the approval of the school calendar, handbooks, students and staff plus bus drivers, device, check out procedures and athletic policy handbooks. They’ll look at approval of the district threat assessment protocol and procedures, look at approving the renewal of property, general liability crime. inland marine umbrella auto workers comp student catastrophic and school board legal liability insurance from September 1st through August of 2024. They’ll look into the recommendation to partner with the Land of Lincoln Southern Seven AmeriCorps to provide two AmeriCorps members to the district. They’ll look at the approvals to invest in the CDARS deposit with People’s National Bank for a 12 month term. They’ll go under the recommendation to raise the athletic admission fee for family passes as well as a recommendation to approve the return to learning plan for the upcoming school year.
The board will enter executive session and following the executive session, they will consider accepting letters of resignation from non certified employees, increasing sub pay for drivers, increasing shuttle bus pay, consider reassignment and non certified employees, recalling teachers aides, the employment of a teacher, EOC aides, child care workers and a coach. They’ll consider approval of athletic volunteers the authorization to post a vacant position or vacant positions and student disciplinary actions as well as pending litigation.
