Earlier this week at the Jefferson County Courthouse, Brian Green was sworn in as a new Deputy for the Sheriff’s Office by County Clerk Joseph Davis. Brian’s wife, Heather, was present and held the Bible during the oath of office ceremony. Deputy Green was hired to fill the 2nd School Resource Officer position requested by District 80 schools. Brian was hired under the Sheriff’s Office lateral transfer program. He is a 35-year veteran with Newton, Centralia, and Salem Police Departments. This is the 8th SRO position filled at the Sheriff’s Office to serve Jefferson County Schools.
