Murbarger and Tate Scheduled for Court Today in Wayne County

Today will be a busy day in the Wayne County Courthouse as two of the biggest cases in the county have hearings today.

Brodey Murbarger and Ray Tate are both scheduled to make appearances in Wayne County Court at 2 this afternoon.

Murbarger was sentenced in January to 50 years for the murder of 15-year-old Megan Nichols while Tate originally pled guilty to the killing of Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Riley.

Murbarger is trying is attempting to get his sentence reduced according to filings at the Wayne County Courthouse while Tate is attempting to work on getting a new trial.

Murbarger was last in court in April while Tate was last in court in March. Tate was originally scheduled for his discovery hearing on May 4th, but the case got moved due to the availability of Wayne County Judge Michael Molt.
