The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has continues a methamphetamine sweep they have been conducting through the county this last week via 3 traffic stops.
On June 11th, Wayne County Sheriff’s officials conducted a traffic stop on West Center Street in Fairfield around 8 PM. The driver, Michale C. Buechele of Big Clifty, Kentucky allowed deputies to search his vehicle. The search turned up suspected meth and assorted firearme ammunition. Buechele was charged with possession of meth and possession of firearm ammo by a felon. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail.
Also on June 11th, around 11 PM, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted another traffic stop. This stop on Market Avenue. It was learned that the driver of the vehicle, Jerry W. Carter of Fairfield has 7 grams of meth allegedly hidden on his person. Carter was arrested on charges of possession of meth and possession with the intent to deliver meth. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail.
On June 13th at 11:30 PM, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Illinois Route 15 near County Highway 9 around the Sims area. A probable cause serch was conducted and suspected meth and controlled substance pills were found. The driver of the vehicle, Eddie D. Brooks Jr. Fairfield was arrested and charged with possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail.
