Gas Prices Down from Last Year on 4th of July

Gas Prices this 4th of July are cheaper than last year. The current national average price for a gallon of fuel is $3.52 per gallon which is $1.28 per gallon cheaper than a year ago.
The average gas price in Illinois is $3.88 per gallon.
Around the Fairfield area, gas prices range from $3.49 to $3.52 per gallon. Around Albion and Grayville, gas is around $3.58 per gallon. Mount Vernon has gas for $3.69 per gallon to $3.79 per gallon. In Salem, the gas price is around $3.34 per gallon to $3.37 per gallon. Carmi is reporting gas prices from $3.26 to $3.29 per gallon which gives them the cheapest price in the area.
