NWS Releases Storm Reports from Last Week’s Storms

The National Weather Service At Paducah has released a summary on last week’s storms and their damage.

According to the weather service, Mount Carmel and Albion areas suffered the worst wind damage.

Williamson, Franklin, and Jefferson Counties on the report saw the worst hail damage.

Overall, 238 storm reports were relayed to the National Weather Service at Paducah over the 4 days of storms.

In our area, Keenes reported 1.75 inch hail on June 29th while Wayne County had a report of quarter inch hail.

On June 30th, Spotters and Broadcast Media reported nearly 1 inch in diameter hail in Frankly County. Hamilton County reported 1 inch in diameter hail near Macedonia. 70 mile an hour winds gusts and wind damage were reported in Jefferson County as well as Hamilton County.

On July 1st, multiple wind damage reported were filed with stormed in Edwards, Franklin, and Wabash Counties with a report out of Mount Carmel of a roof being partially blown off a church. According to the report, winds were estimate between 80 and 90 miles per hour.

On July 2nd, reports of 1 inch to 1.75 inch hail were reported in the Albion area.
