There are several community events on the agenda today around the area.
The Hope Center at 23 West Cherry Street in Albion on the 3rd Saturday of every month hosts feed the Family event. Officials with The Hope Center at the event give away free food, free clothing, free household items, and miscellaneous items. The event gets underway around 9 AM. A requirement of this event is to listen to a message of hope. For more information, call 618-445-2065.
Edwards County Soccer will be conducting a fundraiser at the Pagoda in Albion. Serving of pork chops and pork burgers will begin around 10:30 am. All the proceeds will be used to help improve the soccer program.
The Webber Fire Dept & The Bluford Ruritan Club’s Annual fundraiser Ice-cream Social/ Car show will be later today. Free registration for Cars & Tractors will begin 2:oo pm. The Webber Fire Dept will be cooking Pork Burgers, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and Brats. We will also have Nachos & Cheese and 90 gallons of 7 flavors of Homemade Ice-Cream! There will be 50/50 drawing & Karaoke. All should begin between 3 – 4 pm
The Wayne City OREL Lodge #759 will be holding a fish fry fundraiser this evening at the lodge. Serving begins at 4 PM and consists of fried fish, french fries, cole slaw, baked beans, dessert, as well as tea or lemonade as a beverage option. The cost is $11 for a fried fish feast. Those 6-12 years of age are $6 and children 5 and under are free. Dine-in or take out available.
