Illinois State Police are investigating the death of an East St. Louis, IL man who was found dead in Washington County, IL earlier this week.
According to an Illinois State Police Troop 10 Facebook post, the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation was requested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department to investigate a body that was found west of Nashville, IL on a rural road late Wednesday evening.
According to police, at about 8:45 p.m. a body of a black male was found in the area of Lunte Creek Road, with ISP DCI Zone 7 investigations and ISP Crime Services responding. The victim was identified as 44-year-old Montez Pearson of East St. Louis, Illinois. No further information was released, but police said the investigation is open and ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact the state police DCI Zone 7 Investigations at (618) 542-2171 extension 1203. Witnesses can remain anonymous if they wish when submitting information.
