Jack Levin, 73, Wayne City

Jack Levin, 73, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at his home in Wayne City.

Jack was born December 6, 1949 in Chicago IL to his parents Solomon Levin & Friedella (Mendel) Levin.  On June 20, 1997 he married Laura Catron, who survives.

Jack was a musician, and a disc jockey at many Chicago-area radio stations and for WMCL in McLeansboro, IL.  He enjoyed playing guitar and often played at Market Days in Mt. Vernon, IL.  He loved cats, and took in & cared for many stray cats over the years.  He also sold records & cd’s at the Du Quoin flea market for many years.  He loved music, and attended many live concerts in his earlier years.  He enjoyed going to resale shops with his wife Laura.  He was a loving husband and he enjoyed spending his time with Laura and going to events & activities together.

Jack is survived by his wife Laura Catron of Wayne City, a brother Charles Levin & wife Julie of New York City, NY; a  sister Marci Ramirez & husband Baldemar of Texas; a sister-in-law Linda Hutchcraft & husband Gerald of Wayne City, a mother-in-law Audrey Dillman & husband Charles of Wayne City, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents Solomon & Friedella Levin, and a father-in-law John Catron.
