Dejuan Darcell “Jack” Driggers, 55, of Chatham, Illinois, formerly of Grayville, Illinois, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at his home. He was born January 2, 1968, in Fairfield, Illinois, the son of Dee and Charlotte (Whorley) Driggers.
Jack worked as a laborer and was an excellent wood worker. He was a United States Army Veteran and served as a military policeman in Panama and Iraq. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Jack always enjoyed playing pool, hunting and collecting arrowheads, and spending time with his many friends and family.
Survivors include his close companion of many years, Linda Stephenson of Chatham; father Alan Alldredge (Sandy Long) of Grayville; brothers Dell (Tammy) Driggers, Chad (JaJa) Alldredge, all of Grayville, Darrell Dee Driggers, Jr., of Hawaii; sisters Deena (Curt) Grimm of Grayville; shared grandchildren who referred to Jack as “Pawpaw Jack”, Miles Lynch, Molly Lynch, J.J. Gaunt, Christopher Gaunt, Alex Gaunt, Jameson Lynch, Aria Lynch, Adalyn Flynn, Charlotte Flynn, Amelia Lynch; nieces and nephews Jacy (Clint) Grimm, Katy Driggers, Colton (Jasmine) Alldredge, Bryce Pool, Jacquie Alldredge; and five great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Darrell D. Driggers; mother Charlotte Alldredge; grandparents Charlie and Lillian Whorley and Ed and Helen Driggers.
Visitation and funeral service are Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville, Illinois. Visitation is at 10 am followed by funeral service at 12 noon. Burial with military honors will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville, Illinois.
