A new electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant is coming to Illinois. The facility will be located north of Kankakee in Manteno, Illinois. Governor J.B. Pritzker says the $2 billion state-of-the-art facility is expected to create about 2600 new jobs.
Gotion, Inc. is building the plant, and will make lithium battery packs and cells to power electric buses, trucks and cars. The plant is expected to start production next year. Governor Pritzker called the plant the most significant manufacturing investment in Illinois in decades.
