Fairfield Memorial Hospital honors an employee each month who has been nominated by their peers for providing extraordinary patient care and customer services within and outside of the Hospital.
Carol Anne Johnson, RN, BSN, who works as a Discharge Planner at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, was selected as the September 2023 Employee of the Month. Carol Anne has been with Fairfield Memorial Hospital since May of 2017. Carol Anne goes above and beyond taking care of patients and is noted as one of the most caring nurses for discharge planning.
“Carol Anne is a very compassionate and caring nurse who goes above and beyond for the patients consistently. She is willing to give of herself and her time to serve the organization in whatever needs arise, including working shifts in other departments or learning a new role. Throughout her many years of service she has been in many roles and strived to achieve knowledge and skills so that she can assist more patients along the way. She is genuine in her ability to care for others by making the world a better place either by eliminating a barrier they are facing, listening to offer empathy and support, or arranging the needed support services to assist in promoting independence for as long as possible. One of the barriers a patient was facing was the emotional suffering knowing that he did not have anyone to care for his beloved dog Carol Anne made arrangements for the dog to be boarded and cared for which put his mind at ease.
