Wayne County Board Met Thursday Evening

The Wayne County Board met Thursday Evening in the basement of the Wayne County Courthouse. At the meeting, the board approved under old business of allowing Fairfield National Bank to handle the county’s economic development loans. County officials in another matter under old business were looking into penalizing businesses who are late paying their liquor licenses, however the measure was tabled to next month as the measure is being reviewed by State’s Attorney Kevin Kakak’s office and checking with state law. Under new business, the board approved the Regional Office of Education Budget and also heard that the county’s liability insurance will raise 4 percent next year.
