Utility customers across Illinois could soon see an increase on their natural gas bills. Administrative judges at the Illinois Commerce Commission have recommended rate increases for the four gas companies. They include Ameren Illinois, Nicor Gas, Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas. The commission itself must still discuss the rate hikes. If approved, the increases will go into effect in January.
