A Rinard, IL man was arrested earlier this week following a search of his home by deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and officials with the Wayne County Probation Office.
According to a Facebook post by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, at about 7:46 p.m. Wednesday a search was conducted at the home of Cody L. Cook in Rinard. During the search deputies located methamphetamine, digital scales,, packaging material, a firearm and ammunition. $2630 was also seized from Cook as proceeds from drug sales.
Cook was arrested and taken to the Wayne County Jail awaiting a detention hearing. Cook faces preliminary charges of possession with the intent to deliver 5-15 grams of meth, possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal fortification of a residence, and use of property to violate the Methamphetamine Act.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that all subjects are presumed innocent.
