Wayne County Drug Sweep Leads to Arrest of 3 People

Wayne County Sheriff’s Officials continue to fight the battle against meth in the county.

On Wednesday at 9:30 PM, sheriff’s deputies along with probation searched a residence in Geff. During that search, officials took Shelly M Best into custody. According to Sheriff’s Deputies, best was found to be in possession of two plastic bags that contained meth as well as a meth pipe. Best faces charges of possession with the intent to deliver meth, possession of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 11 PM on Wednesday, Wayne County Sheriff’s Officials and Wayne County Probation conducted a search of the Justin Harris residence in Sims. During the search, deputies located a plastic bag that they say contained meth. Harris was arrested on a charge of possession of meth and was booked into the Wayne County Jail.

On Thursday at 12:05 AM, Wayne County Sheriff’s officials and Wayne County Probation conducted a search of the residence of Gregg L. Duckworth in Fairfield. During the search, deputies found what they say was 6 grams of meth and $805 in cash. Duckworth faces charges of possession with the intent to deliver meth, possession of meth, and use of property to violate the methamphetamine act. Duckworth was booked into the Wayne County Jail.
