Frances E. Carter, 83, of Albion, died at 10:20pm on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at her home. She had been a homemaker.

Frances was born on September 25, 1940, in Toledo, OH, to Andrew and Genevieve (Firman) Moerch. Her first marriage was to Melvin Stark, which ended in divorce in 1969. On April 19, 1971, she married Charles A Carter.

Frances was an active member of Congregation YACDOV until the death of Rabi Ron. Following his death, she led the group until it disbanded. Frances was baptized as a young teenager and loved her Lord and Savior with such passion and agape love and, served Him and only Him. If you sat any length of time with her, she would ask if you knew Jesus and would tell you all about Him.

Frances’ hobbies were knitting and crocheting which she taught her granddaughter Jessie, who has picked up her grandmother’s passion for the craft. She knitted washcloths and slippers for anyone who would have one and crocheted baby blankets for all her children and grandchildren until she was no longer able to do so. She also made lap blankets for terminally ill children in hospitals in Toledo, OH, until the time of having to move to Albion. Frances also loved doing Word Search Puzzles, bird watching and feeding her squirrels both in Toledo and Albion. She was a children’s story writer and poet and had a few of her poems published.  Her latest book she wanted published was called “Jesus, a Love Story”.

In the words of Frances’ daughter Shari…Putting my mom’s life into a few words on a page or in a “In Memory Of” card is almost impossible. She was the very best mother a daughter could ever ask for. God knew just who I needed. Almost everyone who met her fell in love with her. Her sense of humor was priceless, and she loved fiercely. “…And her children rise up and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:28.

Survivors include a daughter Shari (Jeffrey) Lynn of Albion, two step-daughters April (Tom) Varner of Florida, and Robin Carter of Glasgow, KY, two step-sons Lawrence (Anita) Carter of Glasgow, KY and Amadeo Carter of Toledo, OH, 12 grandchildren Cecilla Homler, Dustin (Sarah) Homler, Nicholas (Tabitha)  Homler, Andrew (Andrea) Carter, Kyle (Nikki) Lynn, Christopher (Michelle) Carter, Krystelyna (Trenton) Hart, Jessie Wright, Greg Carter, Tiffany Carter, Charles Carter and Rebecca Carter, 37 great grandchildren, a sister Rolene Binnion, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
