Nearly ideal weather conditions greeted those attending and participating in this year’s Fairfield Veterans Day Parade, held Saturday afternoon in downtown Fairfield.
Prior to the parade, there was a performance by the Roasted Chestnuts and the performing of the National Anthem. Rod Taylor, an attorney from Indianapolis, Indiana flew his twin-engine military aircraft over the parade route and contributed in honoring veterans. The parade honored all branches of the military.
A flatbed truck was provided for veterans to ride in the parade. Many civic clubs and businesses participated in the parade giving out flags and candy. Saturday’s parade lasted about an hour.
