Biden Celebrates UAW Tentative Deal And Reopening Of Belvidere Plant

President Biden is celebrating the tentative agreement between UAW and Stellantis and the planned reopening of the Belvidere assembly plant. Speaking to a crowd of union autoworkers yesterday in Belvidere, the president said getting Stellantis to reopen and reinvest in the Belvidere plant was a priority for him and the UAW. The Belvidere Assembly Plant has remained idle since February. The tentative agreement also includes a plan to build a new EV battery plant and support electric truck manufacturing at existing facilities and the employment of three-thousand auto workers with higher wages and expanded benefits.
