The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is working on information on a shooting that took place earlier this morning (November 10th) in Cisne. The Sheriff’s office says they have a suspect detained at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. Officials say there will be a heavy officer presence in the area until the investigation concludes. Officials with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office will release more once the investigation is wrapped up.
North Wayne Superintendent Adam Ellis released on the North Wayne Schools Facebook that the North Wayne Schools were under a brief lockdown. Ellis also reported the lockdown was 47 minutes. According to North Wayne School, the students and staff are safe.
Ellis in the Facebook Statement said, “These situations are difficult to navigate, especially at certain times of the day. With that said, we are using this opportunity to discuss what we did well and what could use improvement. I will be meeting with the admin. team today, as well as our building rep. team members. Please know that we will continue to explore any/all possible actions to keep our students safe during any type of crisis situation.”
