More information has been released on a recent shooting that happened in Cisne late last week.
Around 7:30 a.m. on Friday. Wayne County Sheriff’s Officials were dispatched to a residence in Cisne to investigate the report of a male subject who had been shot on the scene. The injured party was treated by ambulance and fire personnel and was transported by helicopter to a medical facility. Preliminary investigation indicates that the weapon was fired during a domestic violence incident that took place at a second residence in Cisne. Numerous search warrants were executed and officials with the Sheriff’s Department have requested the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Process to process the scene.
Early investigation reports say that a female subject was involved with the shooting and has been detained. Officials at the Sheriff’s Department have not released any other information on that investigation as the suspect was released, the subject was released. The male subject is still currently recovering and receiving treatment for a gunshot wound at a regional hospital.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation is ongoing.
