Two area health departments have received grants allowing the use of funds to collect residential sharps and disposal free of charge.
Both Wayne County and the Hamilton County Health Departments have been issued the grant. Officials say their vision with the grant is to provide safe disposal of sharps to our rural areas that face limited resources.
The program is for residential medical sharps collection and disposal for residents in Hamilton as well as Wayne Counties.
