Many police departments are issuing warnings to those who have the latest update of iOS 17 on their iPhone.
Police say the update turns on a new feature that is called Name Drop. The feature allows the sharing of your contact information to nearby phones that are close enough together. To shut off the feature, you go to settings, general, airdrop, bringing devices together, and change the setting to off.
Police recommend parents of children who have iPhones to make sure their phones have the feature turned off for a child’s safety.
