Rose Marie Dulaney, age 73, of Louisville, and formerly of Flora, Illinois, passed away Wednesday morning, December 6, 2023, at her home.
She was born December 6, 1950, in Flora, the daughter of Robert Eugene and Melba Ruth (Sale) Dulaney.
Rose had been a bartender at the Sportsman’s Lounge in Flora and later retired from the Flora Moose Lodge. She moved through life as a “happy hippie” often soaking up sunshine every minute she could while laying by the pool or spending evenings around the fire. She was a collector of eccentric items and antiques and enjoyed puzzles, reading, and making potholders. Rose adored her grandchildren and her family and siblings meant so much to her. She especially enjoyed spending time with her sister Betty, and the two had earned the nicknames Blue Hair 1 and Blue Hair 2.
She is survived by her children: Mike (Katherine) Frank of Paris, Jason Frank of Spring Hill, Florida, and Felicity(Tom) Olivier of Fairfield; grandchildren: Trenton Frank of Paris, Garrett Frank of Chicago, Blaise (Brettani) Roberts of Great Lakes, Vincent (Kristen) Frank of Geff, Aussie Olivier of Clay City, and Trish Olivier of Fairfield;great grandchildren: Chandler Zebakiaha Frank, Nicholas Blaise Roberts, Logan Wayne Roberts, Kimmie Nicole Frank, and Benji Lawrence Roberts; siblings: Betty Wathan of Flora, Vickie (David) Sledge of Flora, Robert Dulaney of Flora, Tony (Cathy) Dulaney of Louisville, Tammy Dulaney of Flora, and Wayne Dulaney of Flora;and her beloved canine companion and fearless protector, DOG.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter: Tabitha Frank; a brother: Mickey Dulaney; brother-in-law: David Wathan; 2 sisters-in-law: Bev Dulaney and Beverly Snipper; ex-husband: David Frank; and a niece: Trisha Campos
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
