Fairfield Community High School May Name Next Superintendent Thursday

The Fairfield Community High School Board is set to meet Thursday Evening at 6 PM in the FCHS Study Hall. There are several things on the agenda, including the potential hiring of the high school’s next superintendent.

Currently, Diane Zurliene is in the role on an interim basis until June 30th. FCHS hired Andy Julian as Superintendent for then outgoing Superintendent Jill Fulkerson on June 22nd, but Julian left the position three weeks later to return as Principal at Oblong High School in Western Crawford County. Other potential hires are possible on Thursday at the meeting for a bus driver, custodian, technology coordinator, and an in-house substitute. The board will also look into raising substitute teacher and paraprofessional pay.

Other agenda items on Thursday agenda include monthly reports from the committee and superintendent. On the Superintendent Report, the board will hear the CD rates from area banks, an update on the gym floor project, levy presentation, and will look into Chromebook purchases and the 2nd reading of new board policies as well as current board policies from the Illinois Association of School Boards.

Under old business, the board will potentially take action on new board policies as well as current board policies from the Illinois Association of School Boards as well as take action on the 2023 tax levy.

Under new business, the board will consider new chromebooks for fiscal year 25 and look into sending a letter of engagement with Dartt and Company for the fiscal year 24 audit,
