77 year old Mt. Erie. Illinois resident, William “Sherrill” Shannon passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois
Sherrill was born on August 8, 1946 to William H. and Mary Alice (Smith) Shannon in Olney, Illinois. He married Mary Jane Stinnett on January 9, 1970 in rural Geff, Illinois. He served his country during the Vietnam conflict. He was a farmer and livestock owner.
Survivors include his wife Mary Jane of Mt. Erie, Illinois, a son Luke (Jaclyn) Shannon of Geff, Illinois, 2 daughters; Lucy (Kevin) Ruhl of Fairfield, Illinois and Sheila Kintz of Seaford, Delaware. 5 Grandchildren.
Preceding in death were his parents.
Services for Sherrill Shannon will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois with visitation 11:00 a.m. to service time at Nale’s Funeral Home. Burial will following at the Locust Grove Cemetery at Mt. Erie, Illinois
