New Laws That Go Into Effect Today In Illinois

A number of laws go into effect today in Illinois. Workers in the state will now be earning up to 40 hours of paid leave in a 12-month period. Another Illinois law prevents public and school libraries from banning books. Electronic cigarettes are now banned from being used in indoor public spaces. In order to increase road safety, a new law makes it illegal to Zoom, watch or stream videos, or access social media sites while driving.
