80 year old Fairfield resident, Eldon Ewing, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana
Eldon was born March 28, 1943 in Fairfield, Illinois to Lawrence and Faye (Wright) Ewing. He married Nancy Weber on April 6, 2004 in Henderson, Kentucky.
Eldon proudly served his country during the Vietnam conflict. Eldon owned and operated Ewing Painting Services for several years before retiring in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion Post 176.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Fairfield, 2 Sons: Steven (Lisa) Ewing of Virginia and Scott (Karen) Ewing of Herrin, IL. 2 daughters; Tonja (Jason) Cooper of Fairfield and Misty Crump of Fairfield. 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Brothers; George Everett (Sandy) Ewing of Port Charlotte, Florida and Alvin (LaDonna) Ewing of Fairfield along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Tim Sheraden, 5 siblings; Clarence Ewing, Doris Locke, Donald Ewing, Gerald ”Jerry” Ewing and Ruth McGill.
Funeral services for Eldon Ewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at
Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery with Full Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Post 176 and Wayne Memorial Post 4535 VFW.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Nale’s Funeral Home.
The family requests casual dress.
