Officials at the National Weather Service in Paducah are showing the potential for snowfall greater than an inch for a few days over the next week.

Chance number one comes on Friday. With that, it shows much of the WFIW listening area at just a 10 percent chance, except for those in Marion County, where there is up to a 20 percent chance of an inch of snow or more. According to the narrative from the meteorologists in Paducah, a system will track up from the Gulf of Mexico and bring precipitation to the area on Friday into Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, chance number two comes Monday night into Tuesday. They say that snow is not currently in the forecast, however, a shift south of the precipitation mixed with the potential wind speeds could lead to a greater chance for snowfall. Most of our area is looking at a 20-30% chance of snowfall while Marion and Northern Jefferson Counties are looking at a 40% chance of snowfall.
