An Illinois lawmaker is pushing for a ban on a group of potentially harmful ingredients commonly found in food and drinks. A measure introduced by state Senator Willie Preston would ban brominated vegetable oil, potassium bromate, propylparaben [[ pro-pyl-par-A-ben ]]and red dye number three. The Chicago Democrat is also planning to amend the bill to include a ban on titanium dioxide. California has already passed its own version of a food additives ban.
