Illinois Election Officials To Vote On Whether Remove Trump From Ballot

The Illinois State Board of Elections is expected to vote today on whether to remove former President Donald Trump from the state’s primary ballot in March. The vote comes after retired Kankakee County judge Clark Erickson recommended over the weekend that the courts should dismiss a voters’ petition to remove Trump from the ballot. However, Erickson did say it was clear Trump engaged in insurrection in the January 6th U.S. Capitol attack in 2021.
