84 year old Fairfield resident, Larry Hobbs passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at
Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Larry was born on June 22, 1939 to Lee and Ella (Sprouce) Hobbs in Beggs, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life,Esther (Collins) on September 26, 1959 in Fairfield, IL. They shared 65 years together.
Larry owned and operated Hobbs Music and Company for over 50 years. He was a veteran and a member of the Fiddler Hall of Fame. Larry regularly attended the North Side Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Hobbs of Fairfield, IL. Nieces; Sherri (Richard) Gray of Fairfield, IL, and Kris (Ron) Stahlman of Ulysses, Kansas. 1 Nephew; Mark (Valerie) Hardy of Sherman, Texas.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 1 Brother, Bob Hobbs and 5 sisters; Elizabeth Wideem, Pauline Brady, Virginia Birdsong, Kathleen Hardy and Dortha Hagerman.
Funeral services for Larry Hobbs will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Nale’s Funeral Home with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to service time at Nale’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Northside Baptist Church and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home.
