Sandra Kay Popp, 76, of Crossville, Illinois, died Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She was born July 6, 1947, in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of Eldon “Curley” and Earlene (Carter) Ackerman. She was married to James L. Popp, and he survives.

Sandra worked many years as a baker. She enjoyed cross-stitching, gardening, and following the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals.

Survivors include her husband, James Popp of Crossville; son Tim (Carmon) Popp of Jasper, Indiana; daughter Tina (Jay) Sullivan of Lynnville, Indiana; brother John (Debbie) Ackerman of Mt. Carmel; grandchildren Craig Popp, Charlee Sullivan, Gracee Sullivan, Lillee Sullivan, Damon (Jessica) Wilcoxen, Ciara Wilcoxen; great-grandchild Charlie; nieces Kalie Naas, Reilly Baumgart, and Logan Ackerman. A special thanks to Residential Home Healthcare and Hospice, and Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Graveside services will be 12 noon, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Kuykendall Cemetery near Carmi, Illinois. There is no prior visitation and attendees are asked to gather at the cemetery in time for the funeral at noon.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of choice and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel, 101 Edgewood Lane, Carmi, Illinois 62821.
