McLeansboro Police Welcome New School Resource Officer

The McLeansboro Police Department has introduced their newly hired School Resource Officer Patrolman Anthony Amato to the community. Amato will cover the school facilities within McLeansboro, which includes the Hamilton County Jr./Sr. High, the East Side Grade School, and the Hamilton County Pre-school.
SRO Amato comes to McLeansboro with years of training and experience. After his service in the United States Navy, Amato started his career in 2006 as an Auxiliary Officer and then as a sworn Officer in Buckner, IL in 2008. Amato later transitioned into a role as a patrolman in the village of Ina. Along with his law enforcement training, Amato has three separate associate’s degrees including an Associates in Criminal Justice, an Associates in IT Systems Cyber Security, an Associates in IT systems Specialist, and a number of other occupational certificates. He is also a part of a current assignment to a IL Attorney General’s Office Task Force where he specializes in computer forensics.
