During the IECC Board of Trustees meeting in Fairfield on Tuesday, IECC Chancellor Dr. Ryan Gower reported a drop in enrollment by 3% district wise. Gower feels the drop is because it is getting harder and harder to find college students. While discussion took place on the tuition rate hike, it was mentioned that in his previous employment at the University of Illinois, U of I would see only around a third of students who were accepted attend a class on campus. At IECC, the percentage of applicants who attend a class at an IECC Campus is 97%. Gower feels that the figure is based on the fact that when students choose an IECC school, they are set on the idea of attending a class.
