Wayne City Man Arrested Following Multiple Car Thefts

Multiple Car Thefts lead to the arrest of a man in the Mount Erie Area on Thursday. Early in the morning Thursday, Wayne County Sheriff’s Officials took a report of a theft of a white 2022 Toyota Tacoma in Wayne City. The vehicle was seen by deputies, but later eluded police. Later in the day, a 2007 Blue Chevy Colorado was reported stolen from George Street in Fairfield. Deputies later located the suspect and arrested him Thursday Afternoon. 34-year-old Michael R. Smith was taken into custody by authorities and booked into the Wayne County Jail.
