Judith Ann Davis, age 69, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Friday night, March 8, 2024, at her home.

Judy was born June 21, 1954, in Decatur, the daughter of Grover Duane Thompson and Patricia Ann (Starks) Thompson. She married James Wesley “Wes” Davis on January 31, 1972, in Fairfield and they celebrated 32 wedding anniversaries prior to his passing on August 1, 2004.

Judy Davis was the kisser of boo boos, and the keeper of the cool band aids. She was a teacher, counselor, influencer, warden, janitor, cook, mentor, hero, paramedic, Uber driver, Door Dasher, messenger, and without fail your best ride or die. Judy was an angel in disguise, who recently was reconnected with her wings. She had this magical gift of making everyone she met feel special for just being them.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia Thompson of Decatur; her son, James “Jay” Wesley Davis Jr. (fiancé Michelle Dulaney) of Xenia; her daughter, Judith Ann “Annie” Davis of Flora; a bonus daughter, Becky Hildebrand; daughter-in-law: Angie Davis (Rodney Ort); 3 grandchildren, Harley (Todd) Johnson of Xenia, Zach (Lindsey) Davis of Louisville, and Ian Davis of Flora; 3 great-grandchildren, Jase, Grant, and Neriah; 2 bonus grandchildren, Justin Hildebrand and Jarrad Hildebrand; 4 sisters and 1 brother, Teri Decker (Harold), David Thompson, Diana (Robert) Britt, Kathy Thompson, and Connie (Jimmy) Sheets; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In Judy’s home, over the course of 35+ years, many parents and children came and went. The Davis Family would like to acknowledge those who spent some or most of their childhood at Judy’s Daycare. You were thought of and cared about more than you know by Judy and family.

She was preceded in passing by her father, Grover Thompson; and husband James “Wes” Davis Sr.

A funeral ceremony for Judy will be begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Burial will follow in Branch Cemetery, Geff. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations are suggested to assist the family with expenses, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. To sign the online guestbook, visit: www.frankandbright.com

The Davis Family would also like to acknowledge the parents who trusted Judy, and her family, with the task of helping them raise their children. Please know that you were dearly loved by Judy and the family as well.

The children she cared for are her legacy and we are so proud and blessed to have been able to call her “Mama.”
