State Voucher Program Would Help Private Companies Partner With Public Universities

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has launched the Innovation Voucher Program that could help stimulate economic growth. State leaders hope the three-million-dollars in funding will encourage private companies to partner with public universities. Key industries the program will target include agriculture technology, energy, IT, health care, manufacturing, and transportation and logistics. Each recipient can receive up to 75-thosuand-dollars. Officials say online applications will be accepted until funds are exhausted.
