Lawmakers in Springfield are discussing two proposals that would provide parents with tax credits for child care. One proposal would give parents a state tax credit equaling 25 percent of the federal child care tax credit for every child under 13. Another bill would give parents who have children between the ages of three and five tax credits for preschool. The bill would give parents up to 15-hundred dollars per child.
