Members of the Cisne FFA participated in the 2024 State Awards Day held Saturday, at Mt. Zion High School near Decatur. Alex Paul, Chloe Owens, and Brock Allen were participants for Cisne. Paul received State Runner Up in Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management. His project involves implementing conservation practices and completing land improvements on a 110 acres. Owens was named State Runner Up in Small Animal Production and Care. Her Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) tracks the production of pedigree rabbits in FLF Rabbitry for show, meat, and pet purposes. Allen earned State Runner Up in Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Entrepreneurship. He maintains records of the labor and money invested in the restoration of a 1948 Allis-Chalmers G tractor. Students advanced through section and district proficiency award judging to qualify for state interview competition which is limited to the top five FFA members in Illinois for each of the forty-eight proficiency award areas.
